A Commemorative Penguin

There are a couple guys from the US here this week working in Belo Horizonte, and the Brasilian guy who moved to Italy the same time we arrived here is back in town this week too. Last night a whole bunch of us all went out to supper.

And then somebody found out Eric's birthday is on Friday.

So, the waiter brought out this "cake" made from cotton candy . . .

which was enjoyed by all.

And he got this ceramic commemorative penguin. (Which is fitting, given the name of the restaurant and all.)

So, I guess this officially kicks off the beginning of celebrating that ol' husband of mine getting old! (Or at least as old as me, which is good. After Friday, he has to stop telling me I'm old for about 8 months.)

Now, what the heck do you do with a commemorative penguin?!?

Penguin Chopp!

This is one of the most famous bar brands in Brazil. The first bar (boteco) opened in Riberao Preto mucho years back. It is famous for having the best chopp in Brazil. They have since branched out and probably lost that "interior" flavor.

BTW, did you husband know a Brazilian who worked at CIH in Racine? Was head of accounts or some aspect of finance.

In Brazil? You put it on the top of your fridge! At least in the grandma houses. : )
